I was born and raised in Tucson, AZ before I moved out to California in 2012 for school.  While I was in college I sustained an injury that sent me on a journey to try and understand my body.  I visited several doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors and what they mainly told me to do was rest and be cautious. I took their advice for a few years, being very weary, but I began to get disillusioned by the need to wait and the shear lack of understanding I was getting back from the medical professionals. In 2014 I started to get back into bouldering, a sport I had participated in a lot in high school but hadn't continued with when I first moved west and I also began taking a wide variety of yoga classes to try and heal.

Fast forward to 2017.  I finished school and moved to Los Angeles and began looking for a new climbing gym.  The first place that I went I absolutely fell in love with, LA Boulders.  I found the climbing community there to be incredibly welcoming and I felt like I had found a new home. Within the first month of joining I began to take Intro to Anusara with Sam Feinerman, and this is where my real yoga journey began to flourish.

All of the confusion and the uncertainty I had held onto in regards to my body was no longer the focus of my practice.  With Sam's guidance I began to realize that there was an entirely different way to approach yoga that existed that I had never come across before, one that was couched in a greater understanding and one that was built to meet each student where they were at.  This spoke to me in a way that almost none of my previous pursuits had, by enabling me to begin to take those small steps to get back to a place where I was not only comfortable but also able to do things that I had never thought possible.

After four months I switched into the advanced yoga class and on the first day Sam managed to get me to stick a handstand, another small thing that I had not believed I was capable of.  And with that I was fully hooked and never looked back.  I began taking workshops and classes from other teachers to try and broaden my scope.

Timing was on my side as halfway through 2018 an opportunity arose to take a teacher training under Sam and her teacher Keric Morinaga, as well as EJ Merlin and Grace Lapidario, which i jumped at the chance for and was one of the best experiences of my life.

As our teacher training was wrapping up I was offered an opportunity to begin teaching at the same studio where we studied, Still Yoga in Silverlake, and continued teaching there until the COVID shutdowns.

In January 2020 I finally got my own class at Hollywood Boulders, a sister gym to LA Boulders and my whole experience came full circle, with me being able to now offer the practice I love back to the community I love.

Since the shut downs happened I have begun teaching exclusively online, two classes a week on Facebook and multiple classes through zoom.  I want to continue to offer the practice that I love with those around me and if I can provide some consistency or just a place to get out of your head for an hour or so then I feel like I will have accomplished something good.

On the whole I want to be a positive force for  change and to show people that if they put their mind and their heart towards something that they can achieve more than they know.
